About kat
Kat is a ceramic sculptor who draws her primary inspiration from the animal kingdom. Originally from Poland, from the beautiful region known as the Land of a Thousand Lakes, she developed a deep appreciation and strong connection with nature from an early age.
She spent her formative years in Ireland, developing her sculptural practice alongside working as a 3D artist on award-nominated productions. After moving to Portugal, where she currently works from her home studio, she realised that the tactile nature of working with her hands is a crucial part of her creative expression.
Her work aims to connect the viewer with each subject, whether an adorable red panda or badly misrepresented bats. She believes in the connection between craftsmanship, art and conservation.
Through her sculptures, Kat communicates both the fragility and resilience of wildlife, encouraging viewers to reflect on the consequences of human actions. Each piece is a tribute to the intricate beauty and vulnerability of animals, hoping to inspire a deeper emotional connection and greater responsibility towards their preservation.
Her work can be found in Pragaleria in Warsaw, Zozimus Gallery in Dublin and in private collections across Europe and the US.

Comissions
I happily accept commissions!
If you have any questions or special requests, feel free to reach out. I’m happy to help and will get back to you as soon as I can.
Pricing
Each piece is priced individually, price depends on the size and complexity of the project. A 50% upfront payment is required before I begin the sculpture, with the remaining balance due before the final piece is delivered.
Shipping costs are calculated separately based on weight and destination
Timeline
Creating a sculpture takes time and care. On average, please allow at least one month for completion. Smaller pieces, like a 15cm cat, may be finished sooner, while larger or more intricate works will take longer. We’ll agree on a specific timeline during the planning phase.
Commission process
- We start by talking about your project. We’ll go over the concept, reference images, color scheme, and any other details. Once everything is clear, I’ll provide a quote along with an estimated timeline.
- After that, a 50% deposit is required to secure your spot and begin the creative process.
- Once we’re both happy with the concept, I move on to creating the full-sized sculpture.
- The piece then needs time to dry fully before the first kiln firing. Before the initial firing, I apply the first layer of underglaze painting.
- The sculpture is then fired at a low temperature. Once cooled, I add more detail with additional underglaze and oxides. This is followed by a second, high-temperature firing to complete the piece.
- When it’s finished, I clean it, seal it with a protective wax agent, and prepare it for shipping.
- Before shipping, I’ll ask for the remaining payment along with the calculated shipping cost.
- Shipment – Your artwork is safely packaged and sent to you.
Frequently Asked Questions
Delivery
I ship worldwide. Parcels are sent out from Portugal via CTT or Inpost. International orders are sent using ‘Tracked and Signed’ if available, or ‘Tracked’ if not.
Orders are packaged and shipped as quickly as possible, usually within five working days. You will receive a confirmation email once your order has shipped.
Shipping costs
Customs fees/import taxes outside of Portugal are the responsibility of the purchaser.
Below is a rough guide to the expected shipping costs. The exact amount is calculated at checkout based on the weight and size of the item. Any overpayments in shipping costs will be refunded at the time of sending out the order.
Portugal: From € 12
Europe: From € 20
Rest of world: From € 35
Refund
In the unlikely event that your piece gets damaged during shipping, I offer refund. The way I package my pieces is very break-proof though. One of the galleries that I work with was laughing that it’s shell-proof 🙂
Refund is not available, when you change your mind though – as it takes a lot of preparation and cost to send you the piece. I am always happy to provide additional photos, information and whatever you need to make an informed choice.
Packaging
I do my best to use eco-friendly packaging materials. But since ceramics are fragile, I opt to protect them with foam. The last thing I want is for you to receive work that was broken during shipping. Your artwork is safely packaged and sent to you.
Studio Collection
You are welcome to collect your piece directly from my studio in Lisbon located at the South Bank in Caparica.
